Outdoor theatre returns this summer at Keppoch Mountain!

Last summer, we headed out into the mountains at Keppoch to create an outdoor, COVID-safe production of Robin Hood. We realized that we loved being outside in the forest. And we heard from you, our audience, that you love it too.

Let’s face it. We all thought that by now life at the theatre would be back to normal, and we’d be programming shows inside at The Bauer. But it’s hard to keep up with the ever-changing world, so rather than risk another closure, we’re coming back outside, with something even more epic! This show will be an original adaptation created especially for the beautiful landscape at Keppoch Mountain.

A furry-footed wee Hobbit named Bilbo Baggins goes on an adventure, and despite constant cravings for the comforts of the beloved hobbit hole, discovers courage, strength, and keen burglering skills. Bilbo battles trolls, spiders and a giant dragon, in this extraordinary tale of how a small, seemingly insignificant Hobbit can change the world. This is going to be the biggest thing we have ever done, and it will be an epic adventure for the whole family to enjoy!

Over 2000 people from 8 provinces saw our sold-out run of Robin Hood last year, and 20% of them were first-time theatre-goers. This year’s show will also have limited capacity.  All public health guidelines will be followed to ensure a safe environment for the artists and the audience.

Adapted and directed by Andrea Boyd
Featuring Kate Basile, Patricia Cerra, Simon Henderson, Rachel Lloyd, Kya Mosey, Christian Murray, Emma Vickers, Jeremy Webb, Abby Weisbrot, and Aquila Wibisono.
Set and props design by Leigh Gillam
Puppet design by Laura Stinson

With special appearances by familiar faces in our community.

“Being involved with Robin Hood was the highlight of our family’s summer. To be part of such an incredible show was such a gift. We can’t wait for the next opportunity to step into another story.”

Volunteer With Us!

As you probably remember, one of the things that made Robin Hood so special was the combination of theatre professionals with community actors, creators and crew. That unique blend was inspiring to us all, and ensured a joyful, extravagant summer theatre experience. Which is why we want you back! Once again, there will be volunteer opportunities to get involved at all levels of production, and we hope you can join our team.

Reach out and let us know how you would like to get involved!
