Theatre Etiquette

At the theatre…

We are pleased to provide a smoke-free environment for our patrons. Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is not permitted in the theatre, at the front doors, or on the patio deck.

Some of our patrons are particularly sensitive to scents and fragrance. We ask that you be respectful of your fellow patrons by reducing the use of perfume and scented personal care products.

Food and beverages are not permitted in the Bauer Theatre during performances.

Patrons are advised to arrive 30 minutes before the production start, so you can park, be seated and get comfortable before the show starts. Parking is most readily available in the lower Bloomfield parking lot.

A note to latecomers: Please note that we will accommodate any latecomers who arrive after the production has started. Our House Manager or a designated usher will assist you by taking you to our balcony until the intermission. During the intermission, you are free to move to your designated seat.

There is a strict no cellphone or pager rule in the theatre during the production (except in a Relaxed Performance). Photography and video are not permitted during the show.

Children five and under are not permitted at Main Stage shows, except at a Relaxed Performance. Our Family Stage shows are suitable for all ages, and great for young children. Please be reminded that most Main Stage shows are considered to be adult content. If you have questions about bringing older children to a specific show, please contact our Box Office.
