ROLE: Part time Box Office/Education Assistant 

DURATION: June 152026 to August 30, 2026 
RATE of PAY: $17.00/hr 
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Post-secondary Summer Student - Culture Works Canada
HOURS: 10-20 hours per week 
LOCATION: Bauer Theatre, 5015 Chapel Square 
Antigonish, Nova Scotia

Position Summary 

Festival Antigonish is seeking a Part Time Box Office and Education Assistant as part of a dynamic team, enhancing the experience of both patrons and youth program participants. Reporting to the Education Director and Front of House Manager, the successful candidate will assist in the delivery of youth theatre camps, audience outreach initiatives, and day-to-day box office operations.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide exceptional box-office service, including ticket sales and processing cash and credit/debit card transactions; 

  • Responding to patron questions and concerns (email, phone, in-person); 

  • Assisting with outreach initiatives, such as postering and program delivery; 

  • Serve as a friendly, knowledgeable ambassador for Festival Antigonish and the community as a whole; 

  • Support education and outreach initiatives that engage seniors, youth, cultural or community partners; 

  • Supporting the delivery of youth drama camps.

Qualifications 

  • Efficient and effective communication (email, phone, in-person),  

  • Teamwork 

  • Experience with sales, customer service, cash handling,  

  • Experience working with youth 

 

Eligibility Requirements: 

This opportunity is partially subsidized by Culture Works Canada. To be eligible, the applicant must be: 

a post-secondary student enrolled in a recognized Canadian PSE institution (university, college, CEGEP, polytechnic); a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
