Love U2
Theatre Antigonish is celebrating Valentine’s Day weekend by presenting a high energy show featuring your favourite local artists performing mega-hits from U2’s decades-long catalogue, because we LOVE U2! The Love U2 Tribute Concert is perfectly timed for the holiday of love, because that’s what U2’s songs are about: Love, in all its complexity. Romantic love, spiritual love, universal love, and/or a combination of all of these.
Featuring two local bands, an a-Capella group, and 8 local singers sharing the mic, this concert promises rock and roll and an eclectic range of U2 song interpretations. Whether you grew up with U2 or first discovered their music through an older sibling, you’ll find yourself singing along in no time. And for those new to their sound, this is a rare opportunity to experience U2’s iconic catalogue through the voices of your favourite local artists—songs of love and longing, spirituality, hope, and social justice that continue to resonate across generations.
Love U2 is the first in a series of concerts being presented over this Winter and Spring. Theatre Antigonish and partners are bringing you two community shows with Love U2 in February and Misfits Musical Cabaret on April 1st and 2nd. Auditions are currently underway for the cabaret, and we will be sharing all the details with you soon! Festival Antigonish and partners will present The Hello Crows in Concert on March 27th at Schwartz Auditorium. Emerging from the rich cultural landscape of their Wabanaki homeland, New Brunswick, The Hello Crows are a powerful Indigenous collective, whose songs and stories are woven with the threads of personal experiences, resilience, and a deep connection to their communities and culture. Tickets for The Hello Crows are on sale now at festivalantigonish.com.

LOVE U2. LOVE THE BAUER.
When you purchase a ticket, you are helping to Bridge the Bauer. Each year we host a fundraising concert to raise money for our community theatre. It is a remarkable feeling to experience our music community come together to rally for the arts and share their talents with us. In recent years, that generosity has taken the form of Love Bites, curated by Ken Kingston in 2025, and a tribute to Gordon Lightfoot in 2024. This year, with the Love U2 concert, our community is rallying behind the Bridge the Bauer Giving Campaign.
For fifty years, the Bauer Theatre has been Antigonish’s creative heart – where students, artists, and neighbours come together to connect, create, and belong. A Fire Marshal order now requires significant fire-safety upgrades by spring 2026 or our doors will close. The $500,000 Bridge the Bauer Campaign will fund this work while protecting the artistic, youth, and access programs that bring our Bauer Theatre to life. At the same time, we are working with partners on the next chapter – a new Performing & Visual Arts Centre for Antigonish. That project will take time: planning, design, and a full capital campaign. In other words, every ticket purchased will both protect what was built for us and prepare for what comes next.
“Bridge the Bauer is about protecting what we have now, while preparing for the next chapter—a future Performing & Visual Arts Centre for Antigonish. Love U2 is exactly the kind of community-powered event that makes both possible: great local artists on stage, and real momentum behind the work that keeps our cultural spaces thriving.”
~Caleb Marshall, Managing Director, Theatre Antigonish / Festival Antigonish
